i’m on team new balance
“Runner’s Aren’t Normal.” If you know me (or train with me) you know this is CRAZY. I’M RUNNING THE NYC MARATHON WITH !!! NEW BALANCE!!!
I want to take you back to April 2022— I was invited to the New Balance Track opening as a “media person.” This was the first time I was involved somewhat professionally with NB in any sort of way. Yes, I was fangirling over Jack Harlow, but also NEW BALANCE. I was like damn I really made it. (insert laughter)
Fast forward to April 2023. Gigi and I (AKA JET) worked with New Balance for the launch of Klutch Athletics during the NFL draft. We taught a workout class in Kansas City and both were like fangirling once again over New Balance. We just felt so blessed to be working with one of our favorite brands.
Prior to the Klutch launch (also in April 2023), Jet had the opportunity to work with the Boston Marathon doing recovery sessions and teaching classes for the runners. We made a lot of new connections and were so inspired by all of the athletes. We played around with the thought of becoming full on runners. Emphasis on played.
On a Friday night about a month ago, we received an email formally inviting us to Team New Balance for the NYC Marathon. Gigi and I low key screamed into the phone at each other and said WE’RE DOING THIS. We might’ve cried too, NGL.
Since I started training, my body has done more than I thought was possible. Because of my endometriosis (IYKYK), I have chronic fatigue and brain fog/headaches etc due to inflammation. Running has helped me reduce some of my endo symptoms and has made me more comfortable in my body than I’ve felt in the past few years.
I’m so excited to share more of my running journey with you all. SEE YOU IN NY??
